What kind of used car are you looking for? One that is reliable and runs well, preferably. As you look around for a used car, there are two choices you may wish to consider: a Toyota Vista or Toyota Starlet. Toyota is one of the leading car manufacturers in the world, and since they rolled the first car off the production line their cars have been highly wanted all over the world.
The Toyota Vista was first rolled off the Toyota production line in 1982 as a sister car to the Camry that was already popular in Japan. Its introduction was in conjunction with the dealership network that would have the Vista for sale, and unlike many other cars produced by Toyota the Vista was only available as a straight four cylinder engine that ran on gasoline or diesel. Whenever the Camry’s design was changed, so was the Vista, so if you find a Vista for sale, do not be surprised to see that it resembles the Camry up through the 1996 model year. The last Vista for sale rolled off the product line in 2003 and the design changed in the 1998 model year, with all of the Vistas for sale looking different than the Camry’s.
The Starlet Japan model was the forerunner of the ever popular Tercel. A medium sized sedan, the Starlet was produced between 1973 and 1999. It was one of the longest produced cars by the company, and when the Starlet Japan was introduced to the American market it was the rear wheel drive version. Rear wheel Starlets were popular and the norm during the early 1980s until the front wheel drive was introduced to vehicles for the 1984 model year. The Starlet Japan car was discontinued in the United States when they made the switch to front wheel drive, and the Tercel replaced the Starlet in the American market.
When you are trying to find a Starlet Japan or Vista for sale, you may need to contact an exporter in order to have the car brought into the United States for you. Since the Japanese traditionally do not drive their cars as much as Americans and other countries, most of the vehicles will come with low to medium mileage on it and in excellent condition. Remember when looking into a Starlet Japan that all of the models prior to 1984 will have rear wheel drives and will handle differently on the road during inclement weather.
